The Elegant Starfish (Fromia elegans), also known as the Marble Starfish or Marble Tile Star, is a stunning marine invertebrate admired for its vibrant red-to-orange coloration and intricate marble-like patterns. This peaceful, reef-safe starfish adds beautiful color and natural movement to established saltwater aquariums.
Native to the Indo-Pacific, the Elegant Starfish spends its time slowly exploring live rock and aquarium surfaces, grazing on natural biofilm and microorganisms. It thrives in mature reef systems with stable water conditions and plenty of established live rock. Due to its sensitivity to changes in salinity and water parameters, careful acclimation is essential.
With its striking appearance and peaceful nature, the Elegant Starfish makes a beautiful addition to a well-established reef aquarium.
