  • RedSea Aiptasia-X Treatment Kit - 2oz (60mL)

    RedSea Aiptasia-X Treatment Kit - 2oz (60mL)

    11 in stock

Ships with your livestock order! Red Sea Aiptasia-XIn an exciting development for reef-keepers Red Sea has developed a unique patent pending formula to treat the pest anemones Aiptasia sp., Anemonia majano and Boloceroides sp. Affecting almost every reef aquarium, Aiptasia (otherwise known as glass anemones), are often introduced via live rock or corals and can quickly reach plague proportions in marine aquaria, destroying corals and other marine livestock with devastating effect.Existing treatments are often unsuccessful as when threatened Aiptasia quickly retract into holes in the rock and release planula (larvae) in to the aquarium which can rapidly develop in to full anemones. Additionally any part of the anemone`s body left attached to a rock can regenerate into a full anemone. Many treatments can therefore lead to a proliferation rather than the removal of Aiptasia.Research and development work carried out by Red Sea has led to the development of Aiptasia-X, a product which overcomes the problems usually associated with Aiptasia treatments thanks to its unique formula.Aiptasia-X consists of natural components which form a uniquely thick, adhesive material. Instead of causing the Aiptasia to feel threatened, the unique formula is sensed as food stimulating the anemone to expand and ingest the material. The adhesive form of the treatment makes both the application of the material easy as well as sealing the anemone`s mouth preventing any release of planula. Within minutes of applying the material the Aiptasia will implode, eradicating both the anemone and its planula.Red Sea`s new treatment is completely reef-safe and any material not ingested by the Aiptasia is harmless to sessile invertebrates. Excess material will decay harmlessly over time without any adverse consequences.Easy to use and highly effective, Aiptasia-X provides a solution long sought-after by almost every reef-keeper at one time or another in the life of their aquarium. The Aiptasia-X kit includes a 60ml bottle of material plus an applicator set consisting of a syringe with 2 (straight and angled) lock-on applicator tips enabling treatment of even the most inaccessible of anemones. The 60ml provided in the kit should be sufficient to treat approximately 100 Aiptasia anemones.A 415ml refill is also available and is designed to be decanted in to the 60ml bottle for use with the applicator set. (Locals Only) RedSea Coral Pro Salt Bucket

PLEASE READ Locals Only - This product cannot be shipped   *Discounts cannot be applied to this product *This Product does not ship *This Product does not count towards free shipping     Red Sea Coral Pro Salt is a specialty salt mix formulated for today’s advanced reef aquariums. A scientifically formulated marine salt is based on using pure water. This is a necessary to accurately calculate all the elements required to recreate tropical seawater. It is the best way to create a baseline salt formulation that most precisely mirrors the reef environment. Research laboratories and professional aquaculture facilities often use ultra-pure reverse osmosis and deionized mineral-free water for mixing saltwater. Reef aquarists using RO or RO/DI can have this same level of “saltwater perfection” with Red Sea Coral Pro Salt. Coral Pro Salt is intended to stimulate growth of SPS and LPS corals in aquariums and frag tanks. The coral-building process of calcification demands adequate levels of Foundation Elements: calcium, magnesium and bio-available carbonates. These elements play a key role in coral metabolism and growth, pH stabilization and ionic strength of the saltwater. Coral Pro Salt contains the levels of foundation elements and trace elements necessary for coral growth in your aquarium. You won’t have to use additives to “fix” your freshly made saltwater! Here’s what we really like about Red Sea Coral Pro Salt: Accurately formulated for use with RO/DI water Can also be used with soft water pH stabilizes between 8.2 – 8.5 No phosphate or nitrate contamination No need to immediately add extra calcium, magnesium or carbonates Red Sea Coral Pro Salt Mix Features: Long-term testing proves captive corals demonstrate vigorous growth and vibrant colors Formulated specifically for the advanced reef aquarist using purified water Provides the extra foundation elements needed to promote coral growth Proper pH level quickly stabilizes after mixing Manufactured in small batches to ensure all elements are evenly blended throughout the salt mix Contains all trace elements needed for fish and invertebrates The recommended salinity level for reef-building corals is approximately 35 parts per thousand (ppt). At 35 ppt, Red Sea Coral Pro Salt supplies 480 ppm of calcium; the same calcium level required for growing LPS and SPS corals in reef aquariums. The following table shows calcium levels of Coral Pro Salt mixed in RO water for various salinities at 75°F (24°C). RedSea Dip X 100ML

    14 in stock

DipX Safe Introduction of New Corals DipX is a highly effective dip for safely introducing new corals and live rocks to your aquarium.   A simple 15-minute bath in DipX before placing a new coral in the aquarium will drive away unwanted “hitchhikers”, thereby maintaining the safety of your reef.   New corals often come with unwanted “hitchhikers” hidden deep inside the corals’ crevices. These various tiny creatures are usually invisible to the naked eye, and once in the aquarium, they can migrate to other corals and damage your delicate reef eco-system.   Over the years, reef hobbyists have used generic baths solutions such as fresh water, Iodine, and even household disinfectants, all of which repel some of the hitchhikers, but not all of them.   For the past few years, we have been cultivating tanks with infested corals and comparing a wide range of commercially available dips and other repelling ingredients, examining both their effectiveness and their overall safety for the corals.    The result is DipX – a unique blend of essential oils, without inorganic disinfectants. Our tests have shown that DipX is completely safe for all kinds of corals and more effective than any other solution we tested.    Corals that were bathed in DipX still repelled unwanted “hitchhikers”, even though they were previously dipped in other solutions  On the other hand, corals that were dipped in other solutions after they were bathed in DipX did not repel anything.   Features Safe for all kinds of corals: SPS, LPS and Soft corals, Zoanthids, mushroom anemones (Discosoma and Ricordea) and live rocks. Effectively drives away Acropora eating flatworm, Montipora eating nudibranch, Acropora Red Bug and other coral “hitchhikers”. Slows down RTN and STN (external bath only). Free of inorganic elements such as potassium iodide or bromide. Easy to use, reliable and cost-effective   Notes for use Pour DipX into an empty container. Verify the container is both clean and dry beforehand. Use 10 ml of DipX (diluted 1:100 with aquarium water) to prepare 1L/0.26gallons of bath mix. Place your new coral or live rock in the container for no more than 15 minutes. Bath solution can be reused for up to four batches of corals/rocks but should be discarded within 2 hours from preparation. • RedSea Reef Spec Carbon (100g)

    RedSea Reef Spec Carbon (100g)

    3 in stock

Introducing RedSea Reef Spec Carbon (100g): The Ultimate Solution for Pristine Aquarium Water! RedSea's Reef Spec Carbon is specifically designed to meet the rigorous demands of marine and reef aquariums, ensuring unparalleled water quality and clarity. With its advanced technical and physical characteristics, this premium-grade carbon effectively absorbs and swiftly removes organic pollutants, leaving your aquarium water crystal clear and free from any unpleasant odors. Why Use Carbon? Carbon is an essential component in aquarium filtration, renowned for its ability to trap and remove organic compounds that can cause water discoloration and foul odors. In a marine environment, where organic waste is continuously produced by aquarium inhabitants, the use of high-quality carbon is crucial for maintaining optimal water conditions and supporting a healthy aquatic ecosystem. Media Bag or Reactor? For maximum efficiency and performance, we recommend utilizing RedSea's Reef Spec Carbon in an up-flow style reactor. This configuration ensures consistent contact time and optimal utilization of the carbon's absorption capabilities. While filter or media bags can also be used, they may not provide the same level of efficiency and may require more frequent replacement to maintain water clarity. Usage Guide: Organic Load and Yellow Tint Removal: Add approximately 50g (100ml) of Reef Spec Carbon per 200L (50 gallons) of water for 1-2 months in a moderately stocked reef aquarium to effectively remove organic pollutants and eliminate yellow tint. Post-Medication Treatment: Use 100g (200ml) of Reef Spec Carbon per 200L (50 gallons) of water for one week to absorb medication residuals and ensure water purity after treatment. Ozone Post-Treatment: Employ 50g of Reef Spec Carbon per 50mg/hr of ozone injection to remove residual ozone. Place the carbon at the ozone reactor/protein skimmer outlet and replace it once it reaches approximately 50% of its original volume. Tips for Optimal Performance: Rinse any fines under tap water until it runs clear. Ensure a recommended flow rate of 250 - 400 GPH per 50g of Reef Spec Carbon to maximize absorption efficiency. Replace the carbon every 1.5 - 2 months to maintain peak performance and water clarity. (Locals Only) RedSea Reef Spec Carbon (250g)

    4 in stock

REEF-SPEC Carbon has all the proper technical and physical characteristics making it a perfect carbon for marine and reef aquariums. The carbon will absorb and rapidly remove organic pollutants through its micro/macro pore structures making your tanks water crystal clear and removing any possible smells associated.  Why Use Carbon? Carbon has been used in aquariums for decades with the purpose of trapping organic pollutants that can normally cause your water to tint yellow, along with a possible foul smell. Your livestock will constantly produce organic waste that when broken down can be a catalyst for unwanted microorganisms and also increasing the total oxygen demand of the system which can lead to many other issues.   Media Bag or Reactor? We normally suggest running carbon in an up flow style reactor since they provide consistent contact time, leading to greater control and overall efficiency. Filter or Media Bags work great for many applications but will not be nearly as efficient as its counter part. When using a media bag it is best to place them in an area of direct flow like a sump baffle or overflow chamber directing water to pass over and through the carbon. With media bags it is recommended to gently need the bag once a week or so allowing the carbon in the center of the bag to migrate to the outer edges.   Usage Guide Organic load and yellow tint removal: The recommended dosage of Red Sea’s REEF-SPEC Carbon is approximately 50 gr (100 ml) per 200 L (50 gallons) for a period of 1-2 months for a moderately stocked reef aquarium. Post-medication treatment: The recommended dosage of Red Sea’s REEF-SPEC Carbon to absorb medication residuals is approximately 100 gr (200 ml) per 200 L (50 gallons) for a period of a week. Ozone post-treatment: The recommended dosage of Red Sea’s REEF-SPEC Carbon to remove residual ozone is 50 gr per 50mg/hr of ozone injection. The carbon should be placed at the ozone reactor/ protein skimmer outlet. Carbon should be replaced once it has reached approximately 50% of its original volume.   Tips when using REEF-SPEC Carbon: Rinse any fines under tap water until it runs clear Recommended flow around 250 - 400 GPH per 50 gr of REEF-SPEC Carbon Replace every 1.5 - 2 months   REEF-SPEC Carbon Specifications Shape - 0.6 - 2.3 mm flake Density - 0.48 g/ml Pore Volume (PV) - 1.04 ml/g Total Surface Area (TSA) - 1000 m2/g TSA/PV - 990 m2/ml Small Organic Adsorption - 1000mg/g Large Organic Adsorption - 280 mg/g pH in Distilled Water - >8 Phosphate Output - 0.000001 g/ml Includes Filter Bag    Localpick up ONLY!!!!! *Discount codes cannot be applied to this product
