Their colonial forms can be connected by stolons (runners from their polys) or a coenenchyme. The coenenchyme is tissues that is both an anchor and sometimes stalk for the polyps. Some zoas grow and spread much more quickly than others. For example, some types of zoas can grow one or two polyps in a month and spread slowly. However, other varieties can grow five or six polyps at a time and spread like wildfire! We always recommend keeping your aquarium within natural sea water parameters. This means salinity of about 1.026, calcium 450ppm , alkalinity of about 8 , magnesium 1400. Nitrates and phosphates will have the biggest impact on zoas in terms of growth.

Aqua SD has been shipping corals country wide since 2007!  All corals are shipped UPS overnight to get your corals to you as quickly as possible.  We make sure to use the best packing materials available, so your corals arrive safely.
