  • (Locals Only) RedSea Dip X 500ML

(Locals Only) RedSea Dip X 500ML

    5 in stock

DipX Safe Introduction of New Corals DipX is a highly effective dip for safely introducing new corals and live rocks to your aquarium.   A simple 15-minute bath in DipX before placing a new coral in the aquarium will drive away unwanted “hitchhikers”, thereby maintaining the safety of your reef.   New corals often come with unwanted “hitchhikers” hidden deep inside the corals’ crevices. These various tiny creatures are usually invisible to the naked eye, and once in the aquarium, they can migrate to other corals and damage your delicate reef eco-system.   Over the years, reef hobbyists have used generic baths solutions such as fresh water, Iodine, and even household disinfectants, all of which repel some of the hitchhikers, but not all of them.   For the past few years, we have been cultivating tanks with infested corals and comparing a wide range of commercially available dips and other repelling ingredients, examining both their effectiveness and their overall safety for the corals.    The result is DipX – a unique blend of essential oils, without inorganic disinfectants. Our tests have shown that DipX is completely safe for all kinds of corals and more effective than any other solution we tested.    Corals that were bathed in DipX still repelled unwanted “hitchhikers”, even though they were previously dipped in other solutions  On the other hand, corals that were dipped in other solutions after they were bathed in DipX did not repel anything.   Features Safe for all kinds of corals: SPS, LPS and Soft corals, Zoanthids, mushroom anemones (Discosoma and Ricordea) and live rocks. Effectively drives away Acropora eating flatworm, Montipora eating nudibranch, Acropora Red Bug and other coral “hitchhikers”. Slows down RTN and STN (external bath only). Free of inorganic elements such as potassium iodide or bromide. Easy to use, reliable and cost-effective   Notes for use Pour DipX into an empty container. • (Locals Only) RedSea Reef Spec Carbon (250g)

(Locals Only) RedSea Reef Spec Carbon (250g)

    4 in stock

REEF-SPEC Carbon has all the proper technical and physical characteristics making it a perfect carbon for marine and reef aquariums. The carbon will absorb and rapidly remove organic pollutants through its micro/macro pore structures making your tanks water crystal clear and removing any possible smells associated.  Why Use Carbon? Carbon has been used in aquariums for decades with the purpose of trapping organic pollutants that can normally cause your water to tint yellow, along with a possible foul smell. Your livestock will constantly produce organic waste that when broken down can be a catalyst for unwanted microorganisms and also increasing the total oxygen demand of the system which can lead to many other issues.   Media Bag or Reactor? We normally suggest running carbon in an up flow style reactor since they provide consistent contact time, leading to greater control and overall efficiency. Filter or Media Bags work great for many applications but will not be nearly as efficient as its counter part. When using a media bag it is best to place them in an area of direct flow like a sump baffle or overflow chamber directing water to pass over and through the carbon. With media bags it is recommended to gently need the bag once a week or so allowing the carbon in the center of the bag to migrate to the outer edges.   Usage Guide Organic load and yellow tint removal: The recommended dosage of Red Sea’s REEF-SPEC Carbon is approximately 50 gr (100 ml) per 200 L (50 gallons) for a period of 1-2 months for a moderately stocked reef aquarium. Post-medication treatment: The recommended dosage of Red Sea’s REEF-SPEC Carbon to absorb medication residuals is approximately 100 gr (200 ml) per 200 L (50 gallons) for a period of a week. Ozone post-treatment: The recommended dosage of Red Sea’s REEF-SPEC Carbon to remove residual ozone is 50 gr per 50mg/hr of ozone injection. The carbon should be placed at the ozone reactor/ protein skimmer outlet. Carbon should be replaced once it has reached approximately 50% of its original volume.   Tips when using REEF-SPEC Carbon: Rinse any fines under tap water until it runs clear Recommended flow around 250 - 400 GPH per 50 gr of REEF-SPEC Carbon Replace every 1.5 - 2 months   REEF-SPEC Carbon Specifications Shape - 0.6 - 2.3 mm flake Density - 0.48 g/ml Pore Volume (PV) - 1.04 ml/g Total Surface Area (TSA) - 1000 m2/g TSA/PV - 990 m2/ml Small Organic Adsorption - 1000mg/g Large Organic Adsorption - 280 mg/g pH in Distilled Water - >8 Phosphate Output - 0.000001 g/ml Includes Filter Bag    Localpick up ONLY!!!!! *Discount codes cannot be applied to this product

  • F-Aiptasia - Reef Safe Aiptasia Fix 1oz

    F-Aiptasia - Reef Safe Aiptasia Fix 1oz

    7 in stock

Ships with your livestock order! If you're done fighting a losing battle with the anemone scourge, before you give up...F-Aiptasia!Just about anyone with a reef tank has battled the age-old foe Aipstasia, commonly known as Glass Anemones, and if you have you'll understand the reason for this product's name. They can sneak in on the tiniest piece of live rock or even hitchhike on a coral. Before you know it you've got a garden of anemones, but not the good kind. They sting your prized corals and sometimes even fish and smother rocks and filtration. Even if they don't outright kill corals, they cause constant irritation and cause corals to stay retracted, and can slowly kill them from ongoing stress. At last their is a reef safe, effective Aiptasia solution. Frank's F-Aiptasia is a proprietary formula with improvements over others on the market, making it more effective at sticking to aiptasia and killing them before they can spread throughout your tank. Other solutions can often cause the aiptasia to release their planula larvae which will then pop up as new anemones in other parts of the tank, and in the end your tank is in worse shape than before!Features Reef Safe No injection required No need to siphon anemone out of tank after application Lasting results No effects on water chemistry Coralline color for natural look F-Aiptasia stays in place, smothers the anemones, and keeps them from spreading. Apply F-Aiptasia as soon as you see these pests, and that'll be the last you have to see of them. DirectionsSpecial Note: Please stir the product with the supplied stirring stick and shake vigorously upon receiving it and immediately before any use. It does tend to separate. In the event that the product hardens, it is safe to add a small amount of RO/DI water. Stir well and shake prior to use. Turn off all power heads during application. Using included syringe, apply directly to aiptasia anemone. As you start to cover them, they will retract. Just cover them completely! Leave power heads off for 30 minutes or until product hardens. You can remove the hardened shell a few days later. After several hours, F-Aiptasia will create a 'shell' over the anemone and trap it with the caustic product inside the shell. This robs the anemone of the ability to release reproductive spores in the aquarium! Next time you perform your maintenance or 5 days after covering, you can simply brush the "shell" away. Aiptasia is gone! *Discount codes cannot be applied to this product

Sustainable Aquatics Hatchery Diet provides the best nutrition for your fish! When Matthew and John founded Sustainable Aquatics, they collected every known fish feed available on the market and fed them in controlled experiments to countless tanks of young fish. After researching fish feed manufacturing, they learned that most fish feeds are processed at temperatures that destroy important fats and antioxidants. With this in mind, SA Developed its own raw, cold-processed feed to achieve SA’s vision for color, health, size, reproductive health, and grown rate. With an effective protein to fat ratio of 3:1 and the best antioxidants and vitamins, SA Hatchery Diet provides complete nutrition for most aquarium animals: freshwater and marine fishes, corals, and invertebrates. Verify the container is both clean and dry beforehand. Use 10 ml of DipX (diluted 1:100 with aquarium water) to prepare 1L/0.26gallons of bath mix. Place your new coral or live rock in the container for no more than 15 minutes. Bath solution can be reused for up to four batches of corals/rocks but should be discarded within 2 hours from preparation. Calcium is one of the most important elements in a reef aquarium. Reef invertebrates, such as corals, crustaceans, mollusks, and even some type of encrusting algae, need calcium to grow and remain healthy. Over time, the calcium level drops as it is used by invertebrates, or as it reacts with excess phosphate. The API CALCIUM TEST KIT measures calcium levels as low as 20 mg/L to help you keep your reef inhabitants healthy.SizesContains 2 test bottles, easy-to-ready instructions, and test tube Ships with your livestock order!*Discount codes cannot be applied to this product
