  • (Locals Only) Pharma Magnesium Mix for 2-Part Maintenance

(Locals Only) Pharma Magnesium Mix for 2-Part Maintenance

    4 in stock

Ultra Pure Magnesium Additive for 2-Part Maintenance in your Reef Tank! Maintaining proper magnesium levels helps achieve the essential balance of calcium and alkalinity in your tank by preventing excess calcium carbonate precipitation. Not all magnesium additives are created equal and the largest factor comes into the sulfate to chloride ratio in the magnesium solution. For large adjustments, you will want to use a magnesium solution that has limited amounts of sulfate to keep your reef balanced, where for daily 2-part dosing or maintenance, a larger amount of sulfate is required to keep your reef balanced. Pre-Mixed - Makes 1 Gallon of BRS Liquid Magnesium Mix: 5 1/4 c. Magnesium Chloride : 2 c. Magnesium Sulfate Ideal for weekly/monthly dosing or small adjustments No residue left behind Mixes fast and clear Designed for easy dosing Pharmaceutical grade materials used Mixing Instructions - BRS Liquid Magnesium Mix 2-Part Dosing or Small Adjustments - Fill a 1-gallon container 1/2 full of RO/DI or distilled water and then add the entire contents of the package into the container. Secure the cap on the container and shake it for about 10 seconds to help start the dissolving process. Remove the cap and fill the container the rest of the way with RO/DI or distilled water. Give the container a few more shakes and then let it sit until all the salts have fully dissolved before use. Dosing Instructions Knowing how much to dose is made simple using the BRS Reef Calculator! Create a 1-gallon solution by following the Mixing Instructions above and then test your aquariums current magnesium level and using the BRS Reef Calculator input your current and desired magnesium levels along with your total system water volume. Choose BRS Liquid Magnesium Mix (New Pharma Pouch) option from the drop-down menu and select calculate. The result will be how much magnesium solution you will need to add to raise your aquariums water volume to the desired level. We suggest adding small amounts at a time into a high flow area of the tank, like a power heads output or a sump baffle. It is important to keep changes limited to under 100ppm or less per day to not shock your corals. Magnesium Instructions What is 2-Part Dosing? As corals grow they consume calcium and alkalinity but to keep the levels steady in a reef tank requires the use of magnesium too, so it is more like 3-part dosing, to be honest. Reefers will use calcium chloride and soda ash (sodium carbonate) to maintain their reef tanks chemistry daily and add a magnesium supplement every couple weeks. Magnesium supplements are usually a blend of magnesium chloride and magnesium sulfate to help keep the sulfate to chloride ratio balanced in the aquarium. When starting a 2 part dosing system it is important to use a good test kit to establish a baseline. We really like using the Red Sea Reef Foundation test kit or Hanna Colorimeters for their accuracy and repeatability which leads to a much more stable reef and overall coral health. Stability is one of the keys to keeping a saltwater tank healthy over a long span of time and most reefers will set up an automated system that doses their aquariums needed additives daily removing repetitive (and forgettable) chore. There are purpose-built dosing systems like the Kamor X4, Neptune DOS, or Bubble Magus T-11 that are super easy to program and keeps everything in a compact package, but there are other options that many reefers prefer like the BRS 1.1mL dosing pumps that can be paired with a digital timer for precise and affordable dosing control.   Localpick up ONLY!!!!! *Discount codes cannot be applied to this product

  • (Locals Only) Pro Reef Meersalz Sea Salt

(Locals Only) Pro Reef Meersalz Sea Salt

    4 in stock

Pharmaceutical Grade Salt for the Modern Aquaria! Tropic Marin's Pro-Reef is the ideal foundation for any new tank from fish only to a full-blown reef tank. When used as your regular salt mix it will help bring better ionic equilibrium to the tank, stabilizing pH and allowing the proper balance of carbonates to bicarbonates, leading to faster overall coral growth. Designed to meet the strict requirements of reef aquariums, Tropic Marin Pro Reef Salt mix contains optimized levels of calcium and magnesium while keeping the correct pH value and a balance of all 70 trace elements required by corals to grow and thrive.    Features Incredibly pure; mixes fast & clear Helps stabilize pH Made from pharmaceutical-grade materials Suitable for systems using a calcium reactor Optimizes calcium & magnesium Contains all major and minor elements Perfect for fish only or coral reef aquariums Free of unwanted nitrates or phosphates   Parameters (approx) Alkalinity - 7 Calcium - 440 ppm Magnesium - 1350 ppm   Instructions We suggest starting with 1/2 Cups of Tropic Marin Pro Reef Salt per 1 Gallon of RODI water. For the best results, the water should be circulating and at a temperature of 73-77 °F. Once the water is up to temperature and circulating, slowly adding the appropriate amount of salt will allow it to fully dissolve quickly without creating any concentrated areas where precipitation may occur.  When you have added almost all of the salt and the mixture is fully dissolved and clear, start measuring the specific gravity with a refractometer or similar instrument. Keep adding small amounts of salt until the specific gravity is the value you desire. The specific gravity of the sea salt solution should range from 1.025 to 1.027 (at 73-77 °F / 23-25 °C) and the pH -value should be in the range of 8.0 – 8.4. If all parameters are correct, the salt water is ready to use. Note: Always add the salt to the water, never the water to the salt.

The Best-In-Class Just Keeps Getting Better! The newest generation of EcoTech Radion continues to lead the way in the industry with mind-blowing improvements in light output and color. With a new LED cluster, Hybrid Hemispherically Edge Illuminating (HEI2) optical system, and diodes pushing deeper into the UV spectrum; the G6 Radions are bound to become your new favorite LED reef light. Why does BRS recommend the EcoTech Marine Radion? Quite simply, EcoTech Marine Radions are the LED’s we most often choose to light our own tanks. With the chance to use just about any light we want, there are probably more Radions in use around BRS than any other LED fixture. Through years of experience, we’ve seen the proven results in our growing, thriving reefs. From Aquaculture to the home aquarium, there is a high likelihood that the coral you know and love has been grown or “colored-up” under a generation of Radions. Features and Improvements to the Radion G6 Radions are the standard in aquarium lighting for a reason. Each generation has built upon the successful results of the last, incorporating the latest in design and technology to bring us a state-of-the-art light that blends proven results with greater ease of use. Ecotech Marine has spent significant time and effort in developing and testing lighting programs, such as the popular SPS AB+, that deliver maximum results from their fixtures and bring out the best in our corals. The Radion G6 incorporates a new Hemispherically Edge Illuminating optic system with redesigned LED placement to deliver beautiful shimmer, superior color mixing, even PAR, incredible spread, and even adjustable hues! New HEI2 Optic System Super-Wide 126.3 Degree Spread 395nm Diodes for Ultimate Fluorescence Rebalanced Color Channels and LED Mix Even PAR & High Output Moonlight & Weather Simulation Proven CoralLab AB+ Spectrum Fully Programmable Wireless Mobius App control Mind-Blowing Spread with HEI2 Optical System The Radion G6 achieves its mind-blowing 126.3 degree spread through a new and improved optical system. EcoTech implemented a change to the primary lens on the LEDs, which then integrates with the geometry of the existing HEI (Hemispherically Edge Illuminating) secondary lens to increase the output from an already impressive 110.5 to an outstanding 126.3 degrees! The super-wide spread has an added benefit of increasing output by reflecting off the aquarium side glass walls and reflecting light back into the tank, thus reducing shadows and providing light to the undersides of corals. This means that you can now light your tanks with even less fixtures! The G6 has the highest average output out of all Radions and can provide even PAR across almost four feet of coverage area with its XR30 model, making it perhaps the most efficient aquarium light made to date. Blue vs. Pro The Radion G6 BLUE has gotten even bluer! Adjustments to the diode mix and the addition of 395nm offer new depths of color intensity and increased fluorescence. With the G6, you now have the ability to tune the Blue between actinic and crisp to find the perfect aesthetics for your tank.  The Radion G6 PRO is what you see as the lighting of choice in many public aquariums, aquaculture facilities, and coral spawning laboratories worldwide. It features a balanced LED mix with proven spectrums similar to the output of Metal Halide lighting. Compact & Sleek, High-Quality Design EcoTech Marine aims to produce the most minimally intrusive reef aquarium equipment available. The G6 continues to showcase Radion’s sleek styling, small footprint, and quiet fan with revolutionary heatsink. The Radion boasts a technologically superior design with premium quality components and unmatched customer support. Better yet, the Radion G6 is still backwards compatible with the extensive mounting options and accessories available to the previous generation of Radion, so you can still customize your lighting experience to fit your individual aquarium needs. Mobius Control More colors mean more channels, and with Mobius, programming and controlling your G6 is even easier and faster. Mobius means almost instant setup and programming. G6 LED LIGHTING Blue or Pro, EcoTech aims to bring you the absolute best of what’s technologically possible. In the aquarium, enjoy richer colors, pop more fluorescence and create the ultimate balance between crisp and actinic.  From its inception, Radion has set the standard for what full spectrum aquarium LED lighting can be. The 6th generation pushes the limits of color rendition and fluorescence without sacrificing any of the famous flexibility that caters to the desire of the user. With the addition of 395nm diodes, G6 pushes deeper into the UV range, achieving a new level of coral and fish fluorescence. Both Blue and Pro models also feature a rebalancing of color channels and LED (Diode) mix to augment the most flexible and balanced spectra available in aquarium lighting. Better than ever! The G6 Hybrid Hemispherically Edge Illuminating (HEI2) optic system combined with LED placement and form factor delivers beautiful shimmer, super color mixing, ridiculously even PAR, mind-blowing spread and even the ability to adjust the type of blue hue that you love the most. Mind-blowing Spread Ultimate Fluorescence Intense Full Spectrum Color Fully programmable Wireless Control Moonlight Weather Simulation Technologically Superior Design Premium Quality Components Unmatched Support and Service Extensive Mounting Options Optional Diffuser Accessory MIND-BLOWING SPREAD HEI2 Optical System Radion G6 increases output from an impressive 110.5 degrees in the G5 to a staggering 126.3 degrees.  This improvement was achievable through a change to the primary optic on the LEDs which then integrates with the geometry in the existing HEI (Hemispherically Edge Illuminating) secondary optic (lens). The lenses on the G5 deliver more usable light area. This is accomplished by spreading light that would normally create an area of high PAR directly under the LED fixture and redirect it to a significantly wider optimal area of intensity for coral health and growth. This will reduce shadowing in the aquarium as well as increase usable space for coral at all depths. Hemispherical Edge Illumination Radion is a winner in the cost vs. output equation. The HEI2 optical system delivers 126.3 degrees of output. The result, incredibly even PAR over almost 4ft of coverage area making it the highest average output Radion and perhaps the most efficient aquarium light ever made.  G6 BLUE For those who love Blue – we present G6 Blue!  Bluer in every way and then some. Adjustments to the diode mix offer new depths of color intensity. With so much Blue, G6 now creates the opportunity to tune the Blue look between actinic and crisp. The addition of 395nm to the LED cluster pushes fluorescence in fish and corals to the next level. PLEASE READ Locals Only - This product cannot be shipped   *Discounts cannot be applied to this product *This Product does not ship *This Product does not count towards free shipping     Red Sea Coral Pro Salt is a specialty salt mix formulated for today’s advanced reef aquariums. A scientifically formulated marine salt is based on using pure water. This is a necessary to accurately calculate all the elements required to recreate tropical seawater. It is the best way to create a baseline salt formulation that most precisely mirrors the reef environment. Research laboratories and professional aquaculture facilities often use ultra-pure reverse osmosis and deionized mineral-free water for mixing saltwater. Reef aquarists using RO or RO/DI can have this same level of “saltwater perfection” with Red Sea Coral Pro Salt. Coral Pro Salt is intended to stimulate growth of SPS and LPS corals in aquariums and frag tanks. The coral-building process of calcification demands adequate levels of Foundation Elements: calcium, magnesium and bio-available carbonates. These elements play a key role in coral metabolism and growth, pH stabilization and ionic strength of the saltwater. Coral Pro Salt contains the levels of foundation elements and trace elements necessary for coral growth in your aquarium. You won’t have to use additives to “fix” your freshly made saltwater! Here’s what we really like about Red Sea Coral Pro Salt: Accurately formulated for use with RO/DI water Can also be used with soft water pH stabilizes between 8.2 – 8.5 No phosphate or nitrate contamination No need to immediately add extra calcium, magnesium or carbonates Red Sea Coral Pro Salt Mix Features: Long-term testing proves captive corals demonstrate vigorous growth and vibrant colors Formulated specifically for the advanced reef aquarist using purified water Provides the extra foundation elements needed to promote coral growth Proper pH level quickly stabilizes after mixing Manufactured in small batches to ensure all elements are evenly blended throughout the salt mix Contains all trace elements needed for fish and invertebrates The recommended salinity level for reef-building corals is approximately 35 parts per thousand (ppt). At 35 ppt, Red Sea Coral Pro Salt supplies 480 ppm of calcium; the same calcium level required for growing LPS and SPS corals in reef aquariums. The following table shows calcium levels of Coral Pro Salt mixed in RO water for various salinities at 75°F (24°C). DipX Safe Introduction of New Corals DipX is a highly effective dip for safely introducing new corals and live rocks to your aquarium.   A simple 15-minute bath in DipX before placing a new coral in the aquarium will drive away unwanted “hitchhikers”, thereby maintaining the safety of your reef.   New corals often come with unwanted “hitchhikers” hidden deep inside the corals’ crevices. These various tiny creatures are usually invisible to the naked eye, and once in the aquarium, they can migrate to other corals and damage your delicate reef eco-system.   Over the years, reef hobbyists have used generic baths solutions such as fresh water, Iodine, and even household disinfectants, all of which repel some of the hitchhikers, but not all of them.   For the past few years, we have been cultivating tanks with infested corals and comparing a wide range of commercially available dips and other repelling ingredients, examining both their effectiveness and their overall safety for the corals.    The result is DipX – a unique blend of essential oils, without inorganic disinfectants. Our tests have shown that DipX is completely safe for all kinds of corals and more effective than any other solution we tested.    Corals that were bathed in DipX still repelled unwanted “hitchhikers”, even though they were previously dipped in other solutions  On the other hand, corals that were dipped in other solutions after they were bathed in DipX did not repel anything.   Features Safe for all kinds of corals: SPS, LPS and Soft corals, Zoanthids, mushroom anemones (Discosoma and Ricordea) and live rocks. Effectively drives away Acropora eating flatworm, Montipora eating nudibranch, Acropora Red Bug and other coral “hitchhikers”. Slows down RTN and STN (external bath only). Free of inorganic elements such as potassium iodide or bromide. Easy to use, reliable and cost-effective   Notes for use Pour DipX into an empty container. Verify the container is both clean and dry beforehand. Use 10 ml of DipX (diluted 1:100 with aquarium water) to prepare 1L/0.26gallons of bath mix. Place your new coral or live rock in the container for no more than 15 minutes. Bath solution can be reused for up to four batches of corals/rocks but should be discarded within 2 hours from preparation.  Localpick up ONLY!!!!! *Discount codes cannot be applied to this product

REEF-SPEC Carbon has all the proper technical and physical characteristics making it a perfect carbon for marine and reef aquariums. The carbon will absorb and rapidly remove organic pollutants through its micro/macro pore structures making your tanks water crystal clear and removing any possible smells associated.  Why Use Carbon? Carbon has been used in aquariums for decades with the purpose of trapping organic pollutants that can normally cause your water to tint yellow, along with a possible foul smell. Your livestock will constantly produce organic waste that when broken down can be a catalyst for unwanted microorganisms and also increasing the total oxygen demand of the system which can lead to many other issues.   Media Bag or Reactor? We normally suggest running carbon in an up flow style reactor since they provide consistent contact time, leading to greater control and overall efficiency. Filter or Media Bags work great for many applications but will not be nearly as efficient as its counter part. When using a media bag it is best to place them in an area of direct flow like a sump baffle or overflow chamber directing water to pass over and through the carbon. With media bags it is recommended to gently need the bag once a week or so allowing the carbon in the center of the bag to migrate to the outer edges.   Usage Guide Organic load and yellow tint removal: The recommended dosage of Red Sea’s REEF-SPEC Carbon is approximately 50 gr (100 ml) per 200 L (50 gallons) for a period of 1-2 months for a moderately stocked reef aquarium. Post-medication treatment: The recommended dosage of Red Sea’s REEF-SPEC Carbon to absorb medication residuals is approximately 100 gr (200 ml) per 200 L (50 gallons) for a period of a week. Ozone post-treatment: The recommended dosage of Red Sea’s REEF-SPEC Carbon to remove residual ozone is 50 gr per 50mg/hr of ozone injection. The carbon should be placed at the ozone reactor/ protein skimmer outlet. Carbon should be replaced once it has reached approximately 50% of its original volume.   Tips when using REEF-SPEC Carbon: Rinse any fines under tap water until it runs clear Recommended flow around 250 - 400 GPH per 50 gr of REEF-SPEC Carbon Replace every 1.5 - 2 months   REEF-SPEC Carbon Specifications Shape - 0.6 - 2.3 mm flake Density - 0.48 g/ml Pore Volume (PV) - 1.04 ml/g Total Surface Area (TSA) - 1000 m2/g TSA/PV - 990 m2/ml Small Organic Adsorption - 1000mg/g Large Organic Adsorption - 280 mg/g pH in Distilled Water - >8 Phosphate Output - 0.000001 g/ml Includes Filter Bag    Localpick up ONLY!!!!! *Discount codes cannot be applied to this product
